I like to think there is always something that pulls us back to our values, morals, and essentially keeps us functioning as good humans. For me, it is always my spirituality.  Being raised in church, whether present or not, I always find me way back to God, back to prayer, and back to church.  Having that foundation keeps us rooted in not only the goodness of God, but it also keeps us rooted in our community.  We get to fellowship with our family through our savior, Jesus Christ.  I say Jesus Christ because the bible says via the King James Version, the only way to the father is through is son.  The link provided shares the full scripture https://www.bible.com/bible/1/JHN.14.6-7.KJV#

Through my spirituality, I found belief in myself.  I have found peace in my decisions.  I have found strength when I was weak.  Most importantly, I am guided through the words and the message being taught through the teaching of the bible. I also think back to first time I spoke, dance, sang, hosted, etc. It was all at church.  Those first encounters were confidence builders.  Being a human, we go through an array of emotions, but being a Christian, we are blessed to have a guide that can get us through the hard times, the good times, and the times when we just don’t know how we feel.

Many people talk about manifesting the life they want, the job they want, the spouse they want, the degree they want, and more. For me, it is all about having faith.  Trusting God for the things I have asked him to bless me with. Sometimes it is difficult to let go of the plan you have for yourself, but that is a test of our faith.  Also, knowing that just because we asked does not always mean God will provide.  Through my spirituality, I am aware that not everything I ask for will always be provide to me. My spirituality reminds me that although things may have not worked the way I would have liked for them to work, it all worked out for my good.

Based on an article published by Psychology Today, https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/spirituality, spirituality means different things to different people, and God or organized religion is not always the focus. For me, my family, and my friends, God is the source of which all our blessings flow.  God is the creator.  God is our protector. God is our provider.  We find our purpose through our relationship with God. Our spirituality, connection to the church, and faith in God is our family foundation across generations.  Ultimately, my spirituality is what keeps me grounded through blessings and hopeful during difficulties.
